Board of Management
The BIGGA National Board is responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of the organisation. The Board comprises of elected members who represent the interests of the BIGGA membership and oversee the organisation's policies, finances and activities.
The BIGGA National Board is comprised of BIGGA members who volunteer their time to support the activities of the association. All are established greenkeepers and most work in senior management positions at their facilities.
The National Board is the highest level of the BIGGA structure, but the association's activities are underpinned at every stage by a wide network of volunteers, who offer their time to support their fellow greenkeepers. Some of the specific roles of the BIGGA National Board include:
- Developing and implementing strategies to advance the interests of BIGGA and its members
- Overseeing the financial management of BIGGA, including setting budgets and financial targets
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure good governance and compliance with relevant laws and regulations, while working within the BIGGA Articles of Association
- Supporting the professional development of BIGGA members through training, education and networking opportunities
- Representing BIGGA on national and international bodies and forums related to the golf industry
- Ensuring BIGGA operates in an ethical and socially responsible manner and promoting best practices in sustainability and environmental management.
The BIGGA National Board plays a critical role in ensuring the organisation effectively serves the needs of its members and contributes to the advancement of the golf industry.
