An opportunity has arisen to join the Greenkeeping team at Cosby Golf Club. The Club was founded in 1895 and is a gently undulating parkland golf course.
The current team is small but hugely ambitious and is aligned in their mission to make Cosby Golf Club the best it can be.
Cosby Golf Club are looking for an ambitious and passionate Apprentice Greenkeeper that will support Cosby GC its mission.
The Club has a hefty vision that includes a brand-new irrigation system, the establishment of fairway irrigation and the significant challenge of matching the R&A’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
The Club are passionate about upskilling its team and we are focusing on imparting as much skill and knowledge into the team as possible to help professional development.

Job Overview:
The Apprentice Greenkeeper will work alongside our experienced greens team to learn the skills and techniques needed to maintain and enhance our 18-hole golf course. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience and a nationally recognised qualification in sports turf management while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the golf course, including mowing greens, fairways, tees, and roughs

Help with bunker raking, divot repairs, and general course upkeep

Learn to safely operate and maintain a range of turf machinery and equipment
-
Monitor the health and condition of turf, identifying issues such as pests, diseases, or drainage problems
-
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations
-
Support the team in delivering high standards of presentation and playability across the course
About You
We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to learn and develop their skills in greenkeeping. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Qualifications:

No prior experience required; full training will be provided

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are desirable
-
A valid driving licence is beneficial but not essential
