An exciting opportunity has become available to join the team at High Post Golf Club as Assistant Greenkeeper. Applicants with experience and qualified to Level 2 may be considered for a 1st Assistant Greenkeeper role.

High Post is a private members’ golf club offering first class free draining downland course facilities just outside the city of Salisbury. We are a respected club with a commitment to continual improvement, including recent investment in modern turf machinery. The club has hosted numerous county championships and prestigious events such as the McGregor trophy and Seniors Ladies Championship. The club are in the middle of a driving range improvement project with the construction of a new short game area.

Reporting to the Course Manager Or deputy, the successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and development of the course and practice facilities to the highest professional standards in safety, performance and quality of service, ensuring good housekeeping in all areas of the course and Greenkeeping facility.

We welcome applications from any level of experience. Candidates with little to no experience, or those looking for a career change, who display a passion for golf and sportsturf will be considered. We will provide full training and development.

 
Our ideal candidate will possess:
  •  Greenkeeping experience or enjoy working outside
  • Qualified or working towards Level 2 in sportsturf
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to team play
  • Knowledge of golf course construction and irrigation systems desirable
  • Aware of current Health & Safety legislation
  • Experience of the set up and operation of greenkeeping machinery and equipment
  • Chainsaw and Spraying certification desirable but not essential
  •  An open-minded approach to the seasonal nature of our industry

The successful candidate must demonstrate a professional and modern approach to greenkeeping and a commitment to preparing and maintaining the course to the highest standards.
