Cowdray Golf Club is an excellent downland course, based on sandy soil, playable all year round and boasts unrivalled views of the surrounding South Downs. Located in the heart of the Cowdray Estate, the golf club is a pivotal business within the wider Estate.

The course has recently benefited from a £1million improvement project and build of a new Par 3 Course. Fundamental to the role is the requirement to lead and inspire a team that was recently shortlisted for the BIGGA Greenkeeping Project of the Year Award.

The position is key to consolidating these works and have the aspiration to elevate our reputation regionally and nationally. The Estate owners are committed to constant improvement of the course, including the introduction of robotics, sustainability practices and further course construction projects.

Job Purpose

Reporting directly to Director of Golf, the Course Manager will have the responsibility for the day-to-day management of all assets within the golf course property.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain exceptional course presentation standards

• Lead, manage and mentor the greenkeeping unit to foster a strong team culture

• Manage the financial performance, including budgeting and expenditure

• Ensure full compliance within all aspects of operations

• Oversee the maintenance of course equipment and facilities

• Timely communication to build effective relationships with key stakeholders

• Develop a sustainable strategy and approach to course management
