The Deputy Course Manager position is an integral part of the club’s management structure and forms a very strong link between senior management and the greenkeeping team. The successful candidate should have a flexible approach, be self-motivated, a natural leader of people, able to teach, train and guide members of the team with empathy, humility and patience.

Candidates must have good greenkeeping skills, agronomic knowledge and a reasonable understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and other legislative matters.

For candidates to be considered they must meet all the following criteria :

  • Educated to a minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • At least 8 years greenkeeping experience
  • PA1, 2 & 6a Spraying certificates 
  • Experience with irrigation maintenance, repair and use
  • Knowledge of machinery maintenance
  • Chainsaw certificate
  • Excellent communication skills & IT literacy
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as senior/first assistant or deputy
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff, along with and in the absence of the Course Manager

 Salary: £30,000 per annum
