Les Bordes is a private member’s golf club located south of Paris in the Loire Valley. Home to two championship courses; the World Top 100 Gil Hanse (2021) design New Course and the Robert Von Hagge Old Course (1987). In addition, we have a 10-hole par three course, the Wild Piglet constructed by Gil Hanse. We are proud to offer an exceptional golf experience for our members and their guests whilst with us on the estate.
The New
The 7,391 yard (6,759 meters), Gil Hanse-designed New Course, inspired by the classical heathland style, sits on sandy soils and plays hard and fast through heather, broom and century old pine, chestnut, birch and oak trees. The New is rated within the World Top 100 by Golf Magazine.
The Old
Widely considered to be Von Hagge’s masterpiece, the Old Course has been consistently ranked amongst the top three courses in Europe over the past 30 years. The par-72 course through the Sologne forest, intertwined with a stunning complex of lakes that offer a uniquely serene setting.
Key Responsibilities
A vital role to the members experience is the quality of the golf courses both in the presentation and playability. Expected duties under the guidance of the Superintendent would be:

Ensure world-class presentation of daily course set up and excellent golf course conditions are achieved prior to the start of play each day.

Ensure a safe, clean and productive work environment at all times.

Safely operate heavy duty and maintenance equipment, operate gasoline, diesel and electric utility vehicles and other maintenance equipment in a safe, non-destructive manner.

Complete topdressing, aeration, verti-cutting, grooming/brushing, fertilizing, irrigation and product application tasks, while displaying responsible environmental protection practices.

Complete pre-shift staging of equipment and resources daily, as required by other team members.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of modern advances in materials, methods and the technology of greenkeeping.

Other duties will be assigned as the position evolves.
Qualifications and Experience:

E.U. passport holder (right to work)
-
Qualification in Turfgrass Management.

Previous experience as a Greenkeeper is preferred.

Positive attitude and excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
-
Good working knowledge of turf machinery and automatic irrigation systems, combined with knowledge of the repair and maintenance of associated parts.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of communication skills, and leadership within their role.

Experience with the safe operation of maintenance equipment and the principles to safely operate gasoline and diesel engines.

Ability to follow oral and written directions in a timely and efficient manner.

Learn golf terminology and the importance of each playable areas such as greens, tees, fairway, bunker and understand the game of golf.

French speaking not compulsory.
