Portstewart Golf Club was founded in 1894, and consists of 3 wonderful courses which provide test and enjoyment to all level of golfer. The Strand Course is currently ranked at No.84 in Golf World’s Top 100 Golf Courses in Great Britain and Ireland, and No.92 in Golf Digests Top 100 Golf Courses in the World. The club has been host to multiple professional and amateur events including The 2017 Irish Open and The 2014 Amateur Championship.
Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a part of the greenkeeping team at Portstewart Golf Club. As Greenkeeper/Mechanic, you will be involved in the day to day setup of the golf course, practice area and maintenance facility, with emphasis on presenting the surfaces to the highest standards for members and visitors to the club. You will also be involved in the maintenance and servicing of all machinery in the greenkeeping facility.

Requirements:

Full driving license
-
SVQ Level 2 in Turfgrass Management
-
Experience in maintaining and servicing machinery
-
Good Organizational skills and time-management
-
Good Communication
-
Able to work independently or as part of a team

Positive attitude with cheerful and courteous demeanour

Able to multi-task

Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach that demonstrates a pride in your work
Key Responsibilities:
-
Follow all health and safety procedures, ensuring safe working practices at all times

Assist in the daily maintenance and presentation of the course to the highest standards
-
Operate and maintain greenkeeping machinery and equipment
-
Monitor equipment performance during operation on the course

Assist senior mechanic with all servicing, repairs and breakdowns when required
