St Annes Old Links is a highly regarded Championship course on the Fylde Coast, Lancashire.  The club has a proud history of hosting county, regional and international events, most recently, both final qualifying for The Open and The Amateur Championships in 2022.

We are seeking an individual to join our team as a Mechanic.  The successful candidate will play an integral role in the development of a brand-new workshop facility which is due for completion in March 2025. 

Candidates should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and possess good communication skills.  The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an excellent understanding of machinery maintenance practices, machinery diagnostics and some experience in fabrication.  An excellent overall understanding of Health and Safety protocols in the workplace will also be required along with ability to plan, organise and implement an efficient maintenance schedule. 

Qualifications and Key Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mechanical role
  • Preferably qualified to level 3 diploma in mechanical studies, preferably in sports turf
  • Positive attitude and ability to work within a team or individually
  • Strong work ethic and progressive
  • Confidence to lead and motivate best practice in machinery care and servicing
  • Positive Communication skills
  • UK Driving Licence
  • IT Literacy

Role:

  • Full time – 40 Hours per week (Mon-Fri) plus weekend work on rota
  • Participate in department and club operational meetings
  • Liaise with colleagues, suppliers, contacts and clients in line with club policy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a leading role and help manage the maintenance facility
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule
  • Diagnose and repair machinery issues
  • Maintain accurate digital records
  • Spare parts, budget and stock control
  • Observe and implement Health and Safety best practice
  • Provide training and development on mechanical issues for junior colleagues
