Major Championship trophies heading to BTME
BTME will welcome two of golf’s most famous trophies to Harrogate this January as the Claret Jug and the AIG Women’s Open Championship trophy take the stage for the BTME 2024 Breakfast Session.
Taking place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, adjacent to the Harrogate Convention Centre, the Breakfast Session will tell the agronomic story of The 151st Open and AIG Women’s Open, giving a priceless behind-the-scenes insight into the people and challenges faced by those who worked to make both major Championships possible.
Joining host Gareth Jones will be course managers James Bledge of Royal Liverpool and Michael Mann of Walton Heath. Also on the panel will be representatives of The R&A’s Sustainable Agronomy Team including Alistair Beggs, Adam Newton and Richard Windows. These key personnel are responsible for ensuring the highest standards of course presentation at R&A Championships in line with sustainability ambitions. Together they will share their experiences and learnings from the staging of these global events.
The Breakfast Session is free to attend for all visitors to BTME and there is no need to book in advance.
Following the morning session, both trophies will be moved to The R&A stand within the halls of the Harrogate Convention Centre where throughout Tuesday attendees to the show will get an up-close look at both coveted prizes.
Head to the BTME website for more information and to register.
