BIGGA has expanded the programme of its online education programme with the inclusion of three general sessions that will explore various aspects of the greenkeeping industry.

Continue to Learn has been split into two sections - the Conference and Classes - and is taking place across two weeks this January. Taking place entirely online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Continue to Learn is an incredible opportunity to continue your professional development despite the difficult times we all face.

The Conference aspect of the education programme features three days of incredible speakers and you can find more information here. Below you can find details of the general sessions that have been added to the Conference line-up:

Day 1 (19 January): So you think it’s all about the golf course?

Presented by Kevin Fish CCM, Contemporary Club Leadership

Why do people join and remain members of golf clubs? What role does the golf course really play in membership satisfaction levels? Armed with over 20 years of industry experience, data from over 25,000 UK golf club members and an analysis of over 200 sets of UK golf club accounts, Kevin Fish will give you the insight and information you need to keep your golf course as everybody’s number one priority, and cement your place in the club’s decision making structure.

Day 2 (20 January): Greenkeeping through and beyond the pandemic

Presented by BIGGA CEO Jim Croxton and guests

The COVID-19 pandemic has shone a spotlight on golf courses and greenkeepers like never before. It has also provided unprecedented challenges in terms of reduced maintenance, incredible surges of play and yet another set of climatic challenges. In this session we will look at quantifying some of those challenges and identifying opportunities to improve the appreciation and respect for greenkeepers at the end of the crisis.

Day 3 (21 January): Marketing Golf: It’s too important to be left to the marketeers

Presented by Phil Anderton, Chief Development Officer, The R&A

This session will discuss the importance of all golf stakeholders marketing the brand of golf better if we want golf to grow and having the good sense to do it together: understanding who our customers are and what their (changing) needs are, aggressively promoting why golf is the right choice for improving their lives and delivering an experience that keeps them coming back for more.
